Insolation Energy Ltd., known in the market as INA Solar, wants Indian households to stop dreading their electricity bills. The company launched "Azaadi Mahotsav 2026 – Bijli Bill Se Azaadi Ka Jashn," a nationwide campaign urging homes, businesses and industries to switch to solar power.
The pitch is straightforward: lower power bills now, energy independence later. INA Solar, one of India's larger solar panel manufacturers, is betting that a mix of digital outreach and on-ground events will move the needle on adoption — not just awareness.
"India is moving rapidly towards energy self-reliance, and solar energy is playing a pivotal role in this transformation," said Manish Gupta, Chairman, and Vikas Jain, Managing Director of INA Solar, in a joint statement. "Through 'Azaadi Mahotsav 2026', we aim to encourage more homes, businesses and industries to adopt clean energy solutions that reduce electricity costs while contributing to a greener and more sustainable future."
Behind the campaign sits real manufacturing muscle. INA Solar currently runs 5.5 GW of annual solar module manufacturing capacity, according to the company. It's not stopping there — a new facility is coming up in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, that will add 4.5 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity and 18,000 metric tonnes per annum of aluminium frame production.
The expansion slots neatly into the government's Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat push, reinforcing India's domestic solar supply chain at a time when the country is trying to cut reliance on imported components.
On the product side, INA Solar builds TOPCon solar modules spanning 500 Wp to 635 Wp. The company says these serve residential, commercial, industrial, solar park and solar pump projects, with efficiency and long-term reliability as the selling points — though independent efficiency data wasn't included in the release.
As for what Azaadi Mahotsav 2026 actually looks like on the ground: expect digital campaigns alongside in-person outreach events, all aimed at walking consumers through the financial math and environmental case for going solar.
